I have been gone a while, but the sun decided to peek out and just like that, I feel better! I am realizing that, while the sun isn’t the answer, it is definitely an answer, so I need to take care to spend more time with it.
Onwards.
Lately I have been seeing a lot of people saying if you don’t love yourself you can’t be loved, or can’t truly love, or other garbage quotes. I have struggled with this sentiment my whole life. Not because I never loved myself (I used to be all confidence and self-love) but because I find the quote insulting. It’s degrading, and was probably created by someone just to insult their single, confident friend.
The truth is this: you absolutely CAN love, even if you are not completely in love with yourself. You are also VERY deserving of love, whether it be from yourself or someone else. Low self-esteem can be difficult in a relationship, I understand this. But you do not have to be whole to deserve all the love life had to offer, and a relationship isn’t the only place for love. I am sorry someone lied about this. No human being is completely whole anyway, but our little pieces are beautiful.
As for my outfit, I jumped right up and went for a photoshoot the minute the sun called me. I was feeling sporty and funky!
