The New Year has just begun, and I truly hope everyone is sticking to their career resolutions, their new diets, and workout regimens. I myself, as I have said, do not prescribe to the new-year-new-me belief, because quite frankly, I’m still the same old me, with the same old depression and same old stomach fat. However, we are only eleven days in, and somehow, all the things that can go wrong for me are going wrong. I didn’t expect things to suddenly change for the better, but I also didn’t expect things to change for the worst: I’m losing so many hours at work that I don’t know how I’m going to make my car payments; said car is falling apart, and I’ve had it for half a year; in that time I have gained so much weight I had to give away 90% of my wardrobe, yet I can’t stop depressed-eating; my uncle has passed away, which is honestly the least sad thing on this list, because he lived such a long and beautiful life, and I am so grateful to have known him (he died of actual old age, which has never happened in my family). Even my writing skills have clearly fallen apart (see previous longest-run-on-sentence-in-existence). Of course, there’s more, but I just can’t even. The point is, in such a short period of time, so much has gone on that I don’t even know how to react to it all. Even though that’s better than a mental breakdown (my greatest talent) it’s never fun feeling so overwhelmed. Ugh.

Jacket: Marshalls
This jacket was an absolute STEAL! Marshalls always has amazing prices, and this jacket can be dressed up or dressed down, like in this sporty-casual look. Definitely a look for warmer weather, which we are currently enjoying (if you can forget about global warming for a moment.)

Purse: ALDO
While I’m not necessarily obsessed with ALDO shoes, I LIVE for their accessories. That includes hats, jewellery, and of course, purses! I really like this structured bag for the fall and winter seasons, because the colours are neutral, it’s really simple, but it has a cute lock accent that is quite unique on a bag.

Shoes: Nike
I am in love with these black huarache’s with a white accent. I have managed to wear these every single day since I purchased them; I even rocked them with a floral gown! Hey, black shoes go with everything!
